  • This was a very stupid move on my part...I explain why I did it in the episode.
  • I watched basketball highlights for over an hour the other day for the first time in a long time.
  • But I wasn't ready to do it before...
  • I provide strategies on what to do personally and professionally when you do stupid things on social media in the episode.

Are you wasting your time on Facebook, Instagram. Twitter or LinkedIn?

Not all social media platforms are created equal and it's important to understand which ones are right for your brand and your business. This week's episode comes from a live broadcast that I did on my Facebook profile and on one of my Instagram business accounts.

In this week's episode:

  • I referred to this report from Sprout Social in this episode.
  • The report above details where brands are planning on spending their time and social media dollars vs where consumers are planning to spend their time and dollars on social media.
  • Facebook STILL wins. Every time.
  • LinkedIn is "B ---> B" (Business to Business)
  • The fastest way to find out what's going on in the world is Twitter.
  • The fastest way to gain the attention of a brand is to shout them out (particularly in a complaint) on Twitter.
  • The fastest way to gain the attention of an influencer or a brand on Instagram is to shout them out on your instastories.
  • LinkedIn is a fabulous way to connect with other business owners and find joint...

Repurposing audiograms and Instagram (or Facebook) stories in multiple ways

Why use your great content marketing pieces once? Learn to easily use one piece of content (like audiograms or Instagram and Facebook stories) in multiple ways.

 In this week's episode:

  • In Episode 10, I mention 25 ways to repurpose one podcast episode.
  • You can easily repurpose an audiogram or Instagram (or Facebook) story, as well.
  • You can automatically have your Instastories appear on Facebook (I detail how to do this in the episode)
  • Facebook is also experimenting with automatically having Facebook stories appear on Instagram.
  • Adding an intro and outro to an instastory can dramatically change that social media story into a great piece of video marketing content for an email or future opt in to build your email list.
  • This same piece of content can be used in a multitude of other ways, too (these are listed in the episode).

EASY, proven and FREE strategies to gain online business visibility without ever leaving your home

You don't need to go to major conferences to be visible online and grow your brand! Here are four simple and proven ways to do it, free, without leaving home.

In this week's episode:

  • The number one rule to gaining online visibility is to be where your audience is online. If you're unsure, google "social media demographics" and look at the data for the platforms you enjoy using most.
  • Facebook has approximately 2.8 billion people, so your audience is likely on there.
  • LinkedIn is all business all the time, so if you have a business you should have a daily presence there.
  • Use one or two hashtags for each social media post (up to 30 for Instagram), including a branded hashtag and one topical one.
  • You cannot own a hashtag, but you can dominate it.
  • The easiest and fastest way to get noticed by experts or others in your industry is to be a helpful audience member in the chat of livestream broadcasts. I detail many ways to do this in the episode including greeting the host(s),...

Instagram bots and spam and not depending on just one social media platform

I've noticed a big increase in spam and bots on Instagram stories lately, particularly with polls and quizzes. This week's podcast episode details the ones I found and how to identify them in your social media, as well.

Note: If you're having trouble with Instagram (or any social media platform or Messenger) bots or spam, please reach out to me with a direct message on that social media platform or email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to help you! If you can, include a screenshot of the message you were sent.

In this week's episode:

  • There has been a noticeable increase in spam and bots on my Instagram stories lately.
  • Bots and spam are different things. Bots are robots, they are automated replies or messages that you receive on social media and are not coming from an actual person.
  • Spam is unwanted information. It can come in an email, on social media, in your mailbox at home, or anywhere.
  • I detail several accounts that have replied to my Instagram story...

Being transparent, authentic and sharing too much on social media

We're often told that it's important to be "transparent" and "authentic" online, but how much is too much to share on social media? We answer this and more on this episode of the Business Fabulous podcast.

In this week's episode:

  • Take a "social media cleanse" for a reality check to what's truly important.
  • Look at how many minutes/hours you're spending on social media! (Your smartphone will track this.
  • Please don't eat on live video unless eating the food is a food review, etc.--super rude to your viewers.
  • I define transparency and authenticity (they do NOT mean the same thing) online and what this means for your branding.
  • Why Bonnie's on so many social media platforms.
  • How many social media platforms YOU should be on.
  • Why I get over 27,000 Pinterest views every month.
  • What I do and do not share on social media and why.
  • How I decide what to share and not share on social media

  • Social media platforms are being abused and utilized as dating apps--do NOT do this!
  • You can post whatever you want on Facebook as long as it doesn't violate the platform's terms of service, but I suggest that everything you post be "brand-friendly."
