Strategic Storytelling and How It Grows Your Online Business

Strategic Storytelling is key to growing a successful online business. Find out what it is, how to do it, and how it is a game changer.

In this week's episode:

  • This episode is UNEDITED. (I've never published an unedited podcast episode--I'm apologizing in case it's obvious...
  • You've got to "tell your story" when you market, whenever you sell.
  • Everyone likes to hear stories!
  • I mention the Calm app. I use it to fall asleep--it's really good!
  • You must ignite emotions in order to sell!
  • People act, click, purchase from emotions.
  • REALLY knowing your "people" (ideal client avatar and target audience) are is key to being able to sell.
  • People purchase from having their emotions ignited and their WANTS--not needs.
  • You NEVER need to be "salesy" in order to sell, but you do need to tell your story to sell.
  • You simply need to tell your audience how you do what YOU do and the transformation they can go through by doing this, too.
  • You've got to reach people (communicate with them) in ways...

Boosting engagement on Facebook live broadcasts

There are loads of EASY ways to boost your online engagement in all of your live broadcasts! Learn all of them and hear Bonnie's answers to questions from the live audience!

In this week's episode:

  • By following all of the steps laid out in this episode, I've already organically gotten hundreds of views, likes, loves, comments, and shares from one Facebook live broadcast that I repurposed into two podcast episodes--this episode and episode 54.
  • Social media is frustrating and the rules and platforms and algorithms are ever-changing...that's EXACTLY why I teach what to do to get organic traffic despite any algorithm!
  • It's really helpful to give your audience a heads-up about your live broadcasts (I detail several ways I did this in the episode).
  • I used Streamyard for this (and many) of my live broadcasts.
  • You're not as visible online as you think you are--don't assume that your audience knows what you're up to
  • Behind the Scenes (#BTS) is a great way to let people know (I give loads...

5 easy ways to boost engagement on live broadcasts

Going live is easy, but you've got to do more than that to get folks to watch, listen, and engage with you!

In this week's episode:

  • I started livestreaming on July 3, 2015, and I went live every day, 3-7 times a day, seven days a week. All I had was my phone and my Apple ear buds as a mic.
  • I started landing paid clients six days later.
  • After a year and a half of making money livestreaming, I bought a pro mic and some pro lighting.  Total spent: $150.00
  • Years ago, you could go live and loads and loads of people would pile in to watch you because livestreaming was new.
  • Now things are different.
  • I detail several things that will easily boost your engagement on live broadcasts including having a compelling title with action words, scheduling your live ahead of time and promoting it via your email list and social media.
  • Please remember that a live broadcast is NOT a webinar! Engage with your audience! (I give great examples on how to do this in the episode)

You don't need to go to major conferences to be visible online and grow your brand! Here are four simple and proven ways to do it, free, without leaving home.

In this week's episode:

  • The number one rule to gaining online visibility is to be where your audience is online. If you're unsure, google "social media demographics" and look at the data for the platforms you enjoy using most.
  • Facebook has approximately 2.8 billion people, so your audience is likely on there.
  • LinkedIn is all business all the time, so if you have a business you should have a daily presence there.
  • Use one or two hashtags for each social media post (up to 30 for Instagram), including a branded hashtag and one topical one.
  • You cannot own a hashtag, but you can dominate it.
  • The easiest and fastest way to get noticed by experts or others in your industry is to be a helpful audience member in the chat of livestream broadcasts. I detail many ways to do this in the episode including greeting the host(s),...
